FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I realize that putting your trust into the hands of a new practitioner can be a scary thing. You may have questions, and I hope to have the answers. What is the process of becoming a new patient? What will care look like?
Schedule a complimentary 15 minute conversation to make sure we are a good fit working together. Complete New Patient intake forms and send in previous labs or other health records one week prior to the initial appointment. Intake forms and previous labs are reviewed and analyze prior to the appointment. At Optimal Wellness Holistic Center, I work with patients primarily over the phone or Zoom video conferencing. The first appointment will be between one-and-a-half to two hours. We will discuss your health concerns and goals. It will also consist of questions pertaining to your condition, a thorough medical history, a discussion of possible causes of your symptoms and health conditions. Some recommendations to get you started may be given on this first appointment. Further lab testing such as specialized functional and conventional laboratory tests are often recommended to better assess your health. Orders will be provided or specialized lab kits will be shipped directly to your home.
Once your lab work has been completed and results are received, I will explain the meaning of your test results in a follow up consultation. I will review your labs and case history and create an individualized health program for you which may include the following: diet changes, nutritional supplements, exercise, lifestyle and stress management recommendations. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled at regular intervals to provide regular support of your health concerns, to monitor your progress and to modify your program. Follow-up visits are usually in three to six weeks depending on your particular condition, severity, pace of progress, and types of recommendations. Once your health concerns are mostly under control, you can check in between two to four times a year to ensure you’re staying on track and run annual or biannual testing to make sure you’re doing well.
Is Dr. Loan Huynh, DC an MD?
Dr. Huynh is not a medical doctor. She does not service medical emergencies, diagnose, treat or issue protocols for any medical diseases. If you have a medical emergency, please contact your primary care physician or dial 911.
Dr. Huynh is a functional medicine practitioner and licensed chiropractic physician who supports chemical, physical and emotional stress imbalances, with the goal of promoting wellness. Diet and nutritional advice and supplement recommendations are provided solely to upgrade the quality of foods in the patients’ diet in order to supply good nutrition and support the physiological and biomechanical processes of the human body.
Can I see Dr. Huynh for in-person consultations?
Dr. Huynh only consults with patients over the phone or virtually, via video. Most people that desire a physical consultation with their doctor find that a video and screen sharing consultation can provide as much support as an in-person consult would.
Dr. Huynh serves Raleigh, Wake Forest, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Wilson, Greenville, North Carolina, and Lancaster, Manheim, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She is able to work with patients all over the world. Please contact her to get started.
How often should I get labs retested?
While retesting isn’t required, it is recommended that a client retest at three to six month mark to measure improvement and adjust protocols if needed. Once a patient has achieved their desired health results, I recommend annual testing to ensure your body systems continue functioning at their best.
What is your cancellation policy?
